WELCOME TO THE ALBERTA FEMALE HOCKEY LEAGUE!

Bytnar-Magowan, Weinkauf named Humanitarians of the Month for October

The Alberta Elite Hockey League and Alberta Female Hockey League are proud to announce the Humanitarians of the Month for the Month of October.

AFHL:

Addison Weinkauf (North Central Impact U18 AA)

Addison is the president of her local 4H club, where she dedicates her time to volunteering and community leadership. In her role, she organizes and runs events that require public speaking, coordination, and fundraising to support local initiatives.

In addition to her volunteer commitments, Addisyn has also represented her school at the provincial level in golf. Her leadership, responsibility, and commitment to giving back make her a deserving recipient of this recognition.

AEHL:

Tristan Bytnar-Magowan (Calgary Royals U15 AAA).

Tristan is a first-year player who is new to the Royals organization. Despite being new to the team, Tristan’s compassion and kindness have already stood out. When he learned that a teammate’s mother had been diagnosed with cancer, he wanted to show his support. After noticing that the Calgary Bisons were planning their own cancer-support initiative for the Oct 26/25 game, Tristan quickly rallied his teammates to join in. Within hours, he arranged for every player to wear cancer awareness ribbons on their helmets and pink tape on their sticks. The sight of both teams united in support of cancer research was incredibly moving.

Tristan’s thoughtfulness, maturity, and leadership are well beyond his years. His teammates, coaches, and parents were deeply touched by his actions. His willingness to support not only his own team but the broader hockey community makes him an outstanding and deserving choice for the Calgary Royals Humanitarian of the Month.
