Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships: Week Two Results

RED DEER – Week two of the Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships, presented by ATB, wrapped on Sunday with 10 new champions being crowned, including the AFHL’s U18AA division.

Calgary Fire White skated away with the U18AA Provincial Championship after defeating the Sherwood Park Fury 3-1.

Other teams winning the championship banner were: Springbank Rockies (Junior C), St. Albert Sabres (Alberta Elite Hockey League’s U15 AAA), NWCAA Stamps (U15 AA), Canmore Eagles (U15 Tier 1), Marwayne Sled Dogs (U15 Tier 2), Lloydminster Blazers (U15 Tier 3), Springbank Rockies (U15 Tier 4), Calgary Jr Inferno Red (U15 Female A), and Vermilion Tigers (U15 Female B).

League playoffs determined the Alberta Elite Hockey League’s U18 AAA provincial champion. The Calgary Buffaloes completed a three-game sweep over the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers on Wednesday, March 23. The Buffaloes sealed their ticket to the Pacific Regional Championships for a chance to qualify for the TELUS Cup.

In total, 14 provincial champions have been named.
