The Alberta Female Hockey League’s U18 AAA regular season has come to a close, with all teams advancing to the playoffs, including four who have received a bye in the first round.
The final U18 AAA standings at the end of the regular season are:
1) Edmonton Pandas (80 pts)
2) Calgary Fire (61 pts)
3) St. Albert Bauer Slash (46 pts)
4) Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs (46 pts)
5) Lloydminster PWM Steelers (30 pts)
6) Rocky Mountain Raiders (7 pts)
Edmonton Pandas teammates Cassidy Rhodes and Jacquelyn Fleming finished top two in league points with 36 and 33 respectively. Rhodes also finished atop the league in goals scored with 14, two ahead of the next leading scorer in Jennifer Shaw (Calgary Fire).
Pandas goaltender Lindsey Johnson completed her perfect season, finishing with a 16-0-0 record, which included a league-leading ten shutouts. She also sits atop the leaderboard with a 0.50 GAA and 0.974 SV%.
Two teams in the U18 AAA division have already secured their spot the 2022 Provincial Championship Tournament. These teams include the Edmonton Pandas, who finished first in the division, and the Calgary Fire, who finished second and are hosting the tournament.
Round one of the U18 AAA playoffs will begin on Friday, March 4 – all series are best-of-three. The first round matchups and schedules are as follows:
