RED DEER – Red Deer is hosting the U15 AA Alberta Female Hockey League (AFHL) Showcase this weekend, December 8-10.
The annual showcase consists of the 14 teams who make up the North and South Divisions of the U15 AA division.
On Friday morning, the puck drops with the North Central Impact and the hometown Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs for the first game of the weekend. Games take place at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre and Servus Arena. A total of 21 games are being played over the course of the weekend and concludes with the Sutter Fund Chiefs hosting Edmonton Pandas Gold.
The Lloydminster Richardson Jewellery Steelers lead the North Division with a sparkling 10-1 record due in large part to their +30-goal differential. In the South Division, the Rocky Mountain Raiders are leading the pack with a 10-4 record, but the Airdrie Lightning are close behind with one less win in three less games.
